lunchies with the vs

last week ev & i had lunch with the veikkanens. we set up a little

picnic in their front yard & had gyro type things that they were really

yummy! the bread was just like the pita bread i used to eat in turkey,

so light & fluffy~ brought on a lot of good memories. we also found 

out that fiona got a grant for lots of moneys so i'm really excited to

see what she'll do! she's so creative, as is adam. being  around them & 

in their home is really inspiring, i really enjoy it.

while we were there, they gave us an engagement present...two

amaaaazing cookbooks! i am beyond excited to cook from them!

i've already started reading "Nourishing Traditions" which is really

helping me out with choosing kitchen utensils to put on our registry!

and i've aaalways wanted a jamie oliver cookbook. in fact, a few 

weeks before i left america, i looked through this same one & thought

about buying it! luckily i didn't and its made this gift so much sweeter

than it already is!

sometimes this engaged to evan thing seems unreal. i am marrying

my best friend & gaining a new family. a big new family. and things

that were promised to me when i was 16 are being fulfilled & its been

filling my heart up with so much hope & love.
