we had a slow morning, willing ourselves out of bed & having hotcakes & banana
bread beer for brunch. then we went out on lake burley griffin & used the paddle
boats...i was a bit sore from the frisbee practice we had the day before but it wasn't
too bad. it was pretty windy so we didn't get to go all around the lake but we shared
a viking brew called 'dragonhead' and fed swans, ducks, & seagulls some stale bread.
after the boats, we decided to kill time by going to floriade. floriade is the big spring
festival here in canberra. the queen actually came to see the flowers last year! we looked
around at the flowers and the stalls & ended up buying a box set of mudgeeraba curries!
there is two hundred servings in each set & they last for five years!! we also got a
delicious apple, date, & walnut chutney with the same shelf life. sooo worth it.
after enjoying the lake, flowers, and sunshine we had dinner at a little ethiopian restaurant
in pearce. oh my gosh. if you like indian food, you will probably love ethiopian food.
we had a massive platter that we shared, six different dishes with plenty of injera (which
is sort of like a pancake but with a nice sourdough kind of taste) with their homemade
ginger beer (wowowww!!). for dessert we had their homemade ice cream...evan had the
turkish delight (i don't actually like turkish delight but that was delightful & refreshing!)
and i had the malted chocolate & macademia.
our night ended cosying up on the couch, watching...modern family and drinking
hot milo & young's double chocolate stout. such a beautiful day.
