channeling mom

its my mom's birthday today! i don't know how old she is turning. i've never actually known how old she is come to think of it. but it not something that matters much to me. she's a beautiful woman who has taught me a lot, even when i wasn't aware of it. i got to see her on my break today (via facetime) and tho it wasn't that long, i still enjoyed it. she told me about her day (~sizzler~ & ice cream!) and we chatted about family stuff. its hard being so far away sometimes but i'm thankful for technology. the distance gets shorter and the world gets smaller and it feels like we can touch hands through a screen.

i saw this dress at Landspeed the other day. it reminded me of my mom and even tho i usually pass on vintage (it rarely ever fits me right), i decided to try it on. what luck! its light and airy, too bad i didn't have it a few months ago during the heat wave. anyway it was quite warm yesterday so i threw it on and went for a light stroll with ev around the neighbourhood. i'm not looking forward to these colder months. i am hoping times goes by quickly so i can be in san fransisco already.
