outdoors on a sunday afternoon

we spent sunday arvo with some friends at Causarina Sands. Its this pretty little patch next to the Cotter, one of the two rivers that supplies Canberra with drinking water. The name is misleading as there isn't much sand as there is mud but its still a nice getaway from city/burb life. The Cotter always reminds me of the little adventures i used to go on with my friend tuli. She lives in a different town now so my life has been lacking a bit of the great outdoors. i know that is my own fault but she is my kindred spirit and always motivated me to run towards new ground.

our little meetup was to celebrate a few friend's birthdays. i love when this group gets together. children run amok, frisbees fly overhead, home made/brewed goodies get passed around, and conversations head into deeper territories. these moments make me think of how wealthy we all are. rich in friendships and family and love and laughter. the most important things.
