gibraltar falls

evan wanted to take some tasteful nudes, i mean showers in the falls so he went to check it out.

earlier this week, ev & i both had days off at the same time (a rare occurrence) so we wanted to make the most of it. we had a few ideas of going to the coast and what not but woke up a little too late (we were going through star wars...i'd never properly watched the originals. i know. shame on me.) so instead we went to gibraltar falls. we had heard of it being a bit of a hike so we packed light and headed out. unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, it was no hike at all...

gibraltar falls is, once again, in namadgi and actually on the way to square rock. and for some reason i hadn't realised that i've been there before. tuli & i had gone to gibraltar falls during 'corinbank'. the annual music festival in corin forest. i blogged about it a while ago here. although we had gone much farther upstream and not to the actual falls. there is a little trail that leads to an outlook of the falls, set up with guard rails and stairs, for those who are not so nimble.

needless to say, although we were disappointed at the missed opportunity to exhaust ourselves, it was too nice a day to sook about it. sitting on the sun-heated rocks was ideal and actually, the weather was warm enough to consider a little dip in the pool at the top (i am imagining a most perfect birthday party next year...) i took my gopro with me and did a bit of filming and photographing with it. its such a fun camera, so small and practically indestructible. i'm still learning my way with it so expect a lot more wide angle shots...with my fingers in the way haha.
