fathers day weekend

this weekend we decided to clean out the garage. its been full 

of stuff since we moved here in 2007. boxes filled with treasures

(and mostly crap) that i haven't seen since we lived in Japan & Turkey.

we also found things that were around before i was even born (hence

the charles & diana mag) it made me really happy, like it was christmas. 

my family tends to lean more towards a hoarding type. especially my

mom. nothing crazy. but she just can't throw food away. i think..well

more so i know it is from how she grew up. She grew up on a tiny island

in the Philippines & didn't always know where or what her next meal was

going to be. so as you can see in the photos, she has been hiding potatoes

away & they were reaching for the sun. they look incredibly creepy up close.

i was actually too afraid to touch it. next is yummy bars that i remember her

making for christmas this past year. i never knew where they ended up...

for fathers day we went to my aunt janny's house for some good eats. i 

love going out there. she lives near a lot of farmland & has a great view

of some mountains. i also got to see (almost) all of my cousins which 

was really great. i love getting to spend time with them, it is pretty rare

these days. we're planning on doing a lot of stuff so i hope we can make

it all happen, i'm pretty keen to get some sweet hangs in since i don't have

a lot of time left !!

we ended father's day back at our house with our family's favourite.

mint chocolate chip ice cream cake from baskin robbins. brings me back to

so many birthdays. yummmm !!
